Humor Bomb

The best kind of comedy is the kind when you never see the punchline coming.  It can start by just doing a two minute job and completely forgetting about it as opposed to it being constantly there.

I had being meaning to email Phil O’Brien at the Saturday night program with a  request for awhile. On the Tuesday I finally did it and and promptly forgot about it. On the Saturday nite while doing the dishes i heard Phil mention joining the F/B group, i took it as an invitation and joined. Shortly after i realized that the song ( i was going ) to request was there. Speculation included that there was an algorithm that picked up on the song, or just maybe someone else knew about it. I didn’t even think that it was me who sent the request. The F/B group was reasonably active and i began to get involved. It was shortly before the song got played that i posted a humorous comment regarding  Phil’s post of some marshmallow biscuits.

Tim Firth …in other news RNZ studio mail room was flooded with parcels for the Saturday night program…
Rum Payne NZ Post stops losing money, prices go back down ;)
Kath Rose Mail room inundated by suspicious packages. Bomb squad called in. Mail room now covered in various flavours of marshmallow.

It was shortly after this exchange that Phil announced this… ‘This next request is for Tim Firth who is having the time of his life on F/B at the moment, it’s The Dead South’s   In Hell i’ll be in good company” from the album called The Dead South. It took me by such a surprise that all i could do was laugh and stare at Pippilo and ask if he could believe what just happened. I didn’t bother me that it was just me to listen to it and there was no recording, that is how it goes, i heard it and thats’ all that mattered. i was stunned that the request was for me. It was only later that i realized i had sent the email that started the whole  thing off

The final thing to happen was the computer froze just after i sent a thank you post to Phil on F/B. It was as if the experience was complete and there was going to be no more interactions. No need for a look back it was there and enjoyed it all.
